Birch Street

On May 18 there will be a Birch Street groundbreaking at noon and a block party at 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Birch Street has long needed significant repairs to its infrastructure. We are so excited to celebrate the upcoming streetscape project with the entire community on May 18th, which will include family fun, music, vendors, food and drinks for all to enjoy,” Norland said.

Luke Zubrod, of Square Roots Collective, concurred.

Square Roots is delighted to support the borough’s vision of Birch Street as a place for art, culture, and community gathering. This is a street that is fundamentally for the benefit of the community, as 100% of the profits from The Creamery and the forthcoming Artelo hotel will be reinvested in the community,” Zubrod said.

“When people drink a beer at the Creamery, they are helping to build a trail. When they book a room at Artelo, they are helping to house a family through Family Promise of Southern Chester County,” he said.

“Birch Street is a complex street, with commercial, industrial, non-profit, office, government services, and residential activity all happening within one block,” he said. Credit to the borough for their efforts to listen to each of these groups and create a streetscape design that addressed everyone’s needs, while at the same time investing in public safety given the increase in pedestrian activity in recent years.”
